Kavya began her journey as a Carnatic flautist began at the age of 10 under the tutelage of Shri Balachandar Krishnaraj in Exton, Pennsylvania. She later received advanced flute training from Shri. Sridhar Parthasarathi of Mumbai, India. Additionally, she has received training in Carnatic vocal from the age of 6 and has studied under Smt. Chitra Sundarajan, Smt. Lata Suresh, Shri. Shantaprakash, and Smt. Sribala Ramakrishnan. Over the years, she has refined her technique through rigorous training and extensive performance, mastering the nuances of the venu and bansuri as both a solo instrument and a vital accompanist for dance and concert settings
Kavya is currently a junior at UNC Chapel studying Business and minoring in Statistics and Risk Management. She actively performs in events across campus, the greater Triangle area, and the Southeast coast, and is a member of UNC Bharat Sangeet, Chapel Hill's premium Indian Classical Performing Arts organization. Kavya remains dedicated to the art of sound, bringing a soulful presence to every stage she walks upon.
